It is an entirely original sailing manual that comprises the Velebit Foothill region (Podgorje) from Senj to Dracevac, or rather Novsko zdrilo. The modern variant of the original text is articulated and published. The paper offers an analysis of the Senj Sailing Manual (Senjski peljar) written at the beginning of the XVIIth century. Key Words: Ottoman, Spain, Mediterranean, Rivalry, Economy, Politics The study will attempt to explain the reason for the competition, the competition for which economic products are made and why and how the competition ends. From a historical perspective, the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Spain will be analyzed as actors of the conflict for the hegemony of trade routes. The political economy of the Mediterranean basin trace to the ancient times which is revealed the necessity to contain the political economy of the sixteenth century. This study, which is a general compilation of the commercial competition between Spain and the Ottoman Empire which has commercial expectations from commercial mobility in the Mediterranean geography, after the sixteenth century, is concerned with military aspects and political economy rather than the geopolitics rivalry. Akdeniz coğrafyasındaki ticari hareketlilikten, ticari beklentileri bulunan İspanya ve Osmanlı arasında on altıncı yüzyıldan sonraki dönemde meydana gelen ticari rekabetin ekonomik, politik ve askeri açıdan genel bir derlemesi yapılan bu çalışma, rekabetin jeopolitiğinden çok ekonomi politiğiyle ilgilenmektedir.
